Generate Similar images

Learn how to use the GenStudio plugin to generate image variations of an existing image.

You can use the Generate Similar feature in the Firefly plugin for Figma to create multiple variations of a reference image. This feature helps you explore design alternatives quickly without having to start from scratch.

Before you begin, make sure you have:

  • Figma desktop app or Figma in the browser
  • Adobe GenStudio plugin installed in Figma
  • Active Adobe account with Firefly access

Select Generate Similar in the Firefly plugin panel.

Select an image by:

  • Selecting an image on the Figma canvas
  • Selecting Upload image to upload from your device
  • Selecting Browse AEM assets to access assets from AEM.

Select the generate icon to create variations based on your reference image.

The Firefly panel on Figma displays four images similar to the one selected on the Figma canvas.
Select the edit icon on the individual images to edit them further.

Add generated images to your canvas:

  • Drag and drop an image onto the canvas
  • Select a frame on the canvas and then selecting an image in the plugin window.
  • Select the upload icon to place an image on the canvas.
  • Select the three dots menu and choose Download all to Figma.
Tip

Select the three dots  menu and then select Generate more to create additional variations using the same reference image.
