On the video editor page, move the playhead to the point in the timeline where you want to insert the blank clip.
Learn how to add a blank clip to the timeline when working with Firefly video editor.
Adding a blank clip in the timeline is helpful in many editing scenarios. It can create a pause between scenes without leaving an empty gap, provide a solid background for text and logos, and serve other purposes.
When you add a blank clip to the timeline, it is inserted at the position of the playhead and placed on the lowest video or image layer.
Create a new project, and if you have any media files, add them to the timeline.
Use the bottom video or image layer in the timeline as a guide to check where the blank clip is added.
Navigate to Menu > Clip > Add blank clip.
The image or video on the layer is automatically trimmed, and the blank clip is inserted between the trimmed sections.
The length of the blank clip added is 5 seconds.
You can treat this clip like any other. You can trim it, delete it, or move it across the timeline for placement.
