Learn how to create a timeline in your Adobe Firefly project so you can start adding, organizing, and editing media.

Timeline is a beta feature in Adobe Firefly, now available for testing and feedback.

Try it in the app
Create a timeline in your project in a few simple steps.

The timeline is the main area where you arrange and edit your video. It appears as a horizontal workspace that shows your video, audio, and images in the order they play over time. You can use the playhead (a vertical line that moves across the timeline) to move through your project and see exactly what happens at each moment. This is where you arrange your clips, trim or cut parts, and build your final video.

The timeline has a video and there are options to adjust the timeline view, split the clip, and more.

On the Firefly homepage, go to Video in the left panel and select Edit multi-track video. The timeline editor will open with an existing project or the last timeline you worked on.

To create a new timeline, select the project and timeline name in the header and then select Create new timeline. Once the timeline opens, add media to the timeline to activate the panel.

Timeline editor displays the expanded Timeline name context menu, with a highlight over the Create new timeline option.

Once a timeline is created, you can move it to a different/new project from Files > Projects.
