Remove everything from the playhead position to the end of the clip in a few simple steps.

The Trim end to playhead feature in the Firefly video editor makes it quick and easy to remove everything from the playhead onward, making the clip stop exactly at your chosen point. Instead of manually selecting and deleting the unwanted portion of the clip, this tool saves time and helps achieve precise edits.

Before you begin:

Create a new project and add media files to the timeline.

Select the video, image, audio, or text layer that you want to edit in the timeline.

Scrub through the clip in the timeline and find the exact frame where you want the video to end, then place the playhead at that point.

Go to the top-left menu, select Clip, and then choose Trim end to playhead.

The menu is open, and the Trim end to playhead option is selected under the Clip menu.
Use the Trim end to playhead option to remove everything from the playhead position to the end of the timeline.

Tip

You can also press the keyboard shortcut W to instantly trim a selected clip from the playhead's position to the end of the timeline.

Everything from the playhead position to the end of the timeline is removed.
