Edit properties of video clips added to the timeline in a few simple steps.
While editing video in Timeline, selecting a clip lets you view and edit its properties, including size, position, speed, opacity, and orientation. These settings control how the clip looks and behaves in your project. You can easily access and adjust them using the Properties panel, which updates automatically based on the selected clip type, making it easy to fine-tune videos to match your creative intent.
Before you begin
The Properties panel is enabled and displays the video’s duration along with the following adjustable properties:
- Fit to frame: Resize the clip to fill the entire frame, cropping any parts that extend beyond the edges.
- Fill frame: Resize the clip to fit entirely within the frame without cropping.
- Flip horizontal: Flip the clip left to right, like a mirror image.
- Flip vertical: Flip the clip upside down, top to bottom.
- Rotate clockwise: Rotate the clip 90° clockwise with each click.
- Align: Snap the clip to the center or edges of the frame for precise placement.
- Position: Move the clip horizontally or vertically within the frame.
- Scale: Resize the clip to make it larger or smaller.
- Rotate: Rotate the clip at any angle.
- Opacity: Adjust the clip's transparency or opacity.
- Speed: Change how fast or slow video and audio clips play back by using the slider.
- Volume: If your uploaded clip includes audio, you can easily adjust its volume using the slider control.
- Blend mode: Change how the clip blends with the layers beneath it to create different visual effects.
- Enhance audio: Improve audio clarity by reducing background noise and enhancing speech.
- Remove background: Automatically remove the background from the clip to isolate the subject.
As you adjust the properties, you can see the changes reflected in the preview.
Note
You can select a clip in the timeline and select the Properties icon to view its details at any time.
