Learn how to automatically create, review, and style captions in Adobe Express.

Generate captions for videos directly in the editor

Open your video project in Adobe Express.

On the timeline, select the Open captions   icon.

Generate captions for your video and review them along the timeline.

In the Captions panel, select a Language spoken in media from the dropdown.

Under Media source, select one of the following options:

  • Videos
  • All
  • Audio

Select Generate to create captions for the selected scope.

Review and edit the generated text in the Transcript panel.

Select Format to adjust the style, font, colors, and shape of the captions. 

Tip

Select Text, and use the dropdown to choose from your Brand fonts easily. 

Drag the captions to reposition them anywhere on the canvas, and drag the resize handles to adjust their size.

Create captions for your video in a few simple steps.

Before you begin:

Review the supported languages and file requirements to generate captions for videos in Adobe Express.

On the Adobe Express homepage, select the plus   icon in the left panel, then select Quick actions.

Select VideoCaption video.

Select the language from the Language spoken in video dropdown.

Browse for a video on your device.

Use the Edit caption text field to make changes to the generated caption.

Select Choose a style to specify a style for your caption, or select Customize color to change the text, shape, or shadow colors.

Select Download.
