Use text prompts and your voice to generate sound effects for your designs in Adobe Express.
Use Generate sound effects in Adobe Express to create custom audio tailored to your audiovisual projects. Describe the sound you want using text prompts and optionally record your voice to imitate the desired sound effect, giving you control over its timing and energy. Select Add content in the left panel, then select Generative AI > Sound effects or select Media > Sound effects.
Select Generate sound effects.
Enter a description of the sound you want in the prompt field and adjust the Duration slider to set the length (up to 30 seconds).
Tip
- Provide clear, concise descriptions with specific adjectives and action verbs. For example, use "forceful ocean waves crashing on the shore" or "gentle ocean waves lapping on the shore" rather than just "ocean waves."
- Generate one sound at a time for maximum quality and control.
Optional: Select Recordto imitate the desired sound effect with your voice to control its timing and energy.
Note
- Allow microphone access in your browser and ensure that your system’s microphone access is turned on.
- For the best recording quality, mute your computer audio during recording.
- You can record up to 30 seconds or the full duration of your video, whichever is shorter.
- Recording your voice is only used to guide the timing and energy of the generated sound effect. This feature does not generate speech or sung lyrics.
Select Generate.
Select a variation from the 4 generated results, or Generate again to refresh the generated variations.
You can generate and add multiple sound effects to your file by following these instructions. To make further refinements using additional prompts, you can select the generated sound clip on the timeline and choose Regenerate sound effects in the Audio panel. You can find your previous generations, including variations of sound effects added to your designs, in adobe.com/files under Generation history.
