If you've purchased an Acrobat subscription or you're a Creative Cloud member, follow the instructions below to download and install Acrobat.

Download and install Acrobat Pro DC / Standard DC

Acrobat DC subscribers

If you've purchased Acrobat Pro DC or Standard DC as a subscription, follow the instructions below based on your operating system.

Download and install on Windows

  1. Sign in with your Adobe ID and password.

  2. After you sign in, the Adobe Acrobat Pro / Standard download page appears. Click Download Now.

    Note:

    A binary setup file is downloaded. It's not a complete installer. When you run the file, the actual download and installation starts.

  3. Based on which browser you're using, follow the instructions below:

    Internet Explorer

    You see a prompt at the bottom of the window asking you to Save or Run the file. Click Run and then skip to the next step.

    Firefox

    a. You see a file download prompt. Click Save File.

    b. You can see the downloaded exe file by clicking the Show All Downloads icon in the upper-right corner of the window. Double-click the exe file, and skip to the next step.

    Note:

    Press Ctrl+J to open the Firefox Library dialog box. You can see the downloaded exe file under Downloads. The file name starts with "acrobatproDC."

    Chrome

    You can see the downloaded exe file in the lower-left corner of the browser window. Double-click the exe file, and skip to the next step.

    Note:

    If you cannot locate the downloaded file, open Windows Explorer and then select the Downloads folder in the left navigation pane. Double-click the downloaded setup file.

  4. The User Account Control prompt appears. Click Yes.

    The installer starts downloading and installing Acrobat.

  5. After the installation is complete, click Launch Acrobat.

    You may be asked to sign in. Sign in with your Adobe ID and password.

    Note:

    If you see a warning message saying your Acrobat subscription cannot be validated, click the Continue in Trial button.

Download and install on Mac OS

Note:

Acrobat Standard DC is a Windows-only offering, and is not available on Mac OS.

  1. Sign in with your Adobe ID and password.

  2. After you sign in, the Adobe Acrobat Pro download page appears. Click Download Now.

  3. Based on which browser you're using, follow the instructions below:

    Safari

    You can see the downloaded DMG file by clicking the Show Downloads icon in the upper-right corner of the window. Double-click the DMG file, and skip to the next step.

    Firefox

    a. You see a file download prompt. Click Save File.

    b. You can see the downloaded DMG file by clicking the Show All Downloads icon in the upper-right corner of the window. Double-click the DMG file, and skip to the next step.

    Note:

    If you cannot locate the downloaded file, open the Finder and then select the Downloads folder in the left navigation pane. Double-click the downloaded DMG file.

  4. After the DMG file is mounted, you see the Adobe Acrobat installer screen. Double-click the installer icon to begin installation.

    Mac OS may display an alert dialog, as shown below. Click Open.

    Note:

    Mac OS may prompt you to sign in. Sign in with your Mac user name and password.

    The installer starts downloading and installing Acrobat.

  5. After the installation is complete, click Launch Acrobat.

    You may be asked to sign in. Sign in with your Adobe ID and password.

    Note:

    If you see a warning message saying your Acrobat subscription cannot be validated, click the Continue in Trial button. When you launch Acrobat next time and sign in, the validation problem is resolved.

Creative Cloud members

Creative Cloud individual membership

You can download and install Acrobat Pro DC either from the Creative Cloud website or by using the Creative Cloud desktop app. See Download and install Creative Cloud apps.

Creative Cloud for teams

  • Self-service deployment: As an IT administrator, you can log in to the Creative Cloud Admin Console and follow the easy instructions for getting started. You do not install for your team. Once team members accept the invitation, they need to log in to Creative Cloud to download and install applications. For instructions, refer your team members to Download and install Creative Cloud apps.
  • Managed deployment: Use Creative Cloud Packager for managed deployment. See Creative Cloud Help / Packager.
  • Single App deployment: To deploy Acrobat as Adobe Creative Cloud for teams – Single App, see Deploy Acrobat | Creative Cloud for teams Single App. (It applies to both Acrobat Pro and Acrobat Standard.)
