Once you've entered a review, the interface can be divided into 3 main sections:
- The Left bar has tools that change how you can interact with the Viewport.
- The Viewport is where you can view the asset, see other users in the review, and see pins attached to the asset.
- The Right bar provides access to the Comments panel and the Information panel.
The Left bar
The Left bar has a collection of tools that change how you can interact with the Viewport:
- By default, the Select tool is equipped, which allows you to select the asset in the Viewport and move or rotate it.
- With the Laser pointer equipped, you can click on specific areas of the asset to highlight them for other users in your review.
- The remaining 3 controls, Orbit, Dolly, and Pan, change how you can navigate when you click and drag in the Viewport.
Each of the tools in the Left bar have keyboard shortcuts. You can hover over each tool in the Left bar to see a tooltip that explains the tool, and includes the keyboard shortcut.
While the Select tool is equipped, you can use the left, middle, and right-click shortcuts to navigate through the scene without needing to individually equip the Orbit, Dolly, or Pan tools.
The Viewport
The Viewport is where you can move around a shared 3D space with other reviewers on desktop or in VR while you discuss and review your asset. The behavior of the Viewport changes based on which tool you have equipped from the Left bar.
The select tool
The Select tool allows you to pick up and move the asset inside the 3D space. To use the Select tool:
- First equip the Select tool from the Left bar or with the keyboard shortcut.
- Click the asset inside the Viewport.
- The asset is highlighted blue and a set of controls appears called the gizmo.
- Click and drag the arrows on the gizmo to move the asset.
- Use the blue rotation handles to rotate the asset.
If you would like to reset the position of the asset, use the Reset button in the Top bar.
The Laser pointer
With the Laser pointer equipped from the Left bar, you can click and drag on your asset in the Viewport to highlight specific areas or details to others in the Review.
While the Laser Pointer is equipped, you cannot use the mouse to move around the 3D scene, and you will need to equip the Select tool or one of the navigation tools to move again.
Navigation tools
The navigation tools, Orbit, Dolly, and Pan, change how the camera moves when left click and dragging in the Viewport:
- Orbit rotates the camera around the point underneath your cursor. This matches the default behavior with the Select tool equipped, where clicking and dragging in the scene will rotate the camera.
- Dolly moves the camera towards or away from the point under the cursor.
- Pan moves the camera up, down, left, or right relative to the point under the cursor.
The Right bar
The Right bar provides access to the Comments panel and the Information panel. You can switch between panels or close the currently open panel with the buttons in the Right bar.
The comments panel
The Comments panel allows you to leave comments for other reviewers, reply to other comments, or attach pins to the asset to call out specific details or areas.
The information panel
The Information panel displays statistics and other information about the asset.
