Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
Look for processes named Adobe Application Manager or Creative Cloud.
Select each process and choose End Task.
Close Task Manager.
Relaunch the Creative Cloud installer and reinstall the app.
Error code 82 occurs when Adobe Application Manager (AAM) is running in the background and interferes with installation.
Adobe Application Manager (AAM) is an older utility used for licensing and updates in legacy Adobe applications, including older Acrobat versions, pre-NGL Creative Cloud apps, and certain Elements installations. While current Creative Cloud workflows no longer use AAM, it may still be compatible with older systems.
Follow these steps to allow AAM to finish and resume the installation.
Wait a few minutes until AAM finishes its background process.
If the installation doesn't resume automatically, close the installer.
Relaunch the Creative Cloud installer.
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
If the installation completes successfully, you've resolved the error. If not, try the next solution.
If Adobe Application Manager or the Creative Cloud desktop app is stuck, manually close it using these steps for your operating system.
