Create a Student Space in Acrobat on Android

Last updated on Sep 9, 2026

Create a focused workspace for one topic, then use its sources to chat, take notes, and generate study tools.

Note

Student Spaces is available only in Acrobat on Android. It isn't available on iOS.

A Student Space keeps the source files, web links, pasted text, chats, notes, and generated study tools for one topic together. Create separate spaces for different courses, subjects, or projects so the AI uses the appropriate sources for each topic.

Create a new Student Space

Each Student Space contains the sources and generated study materials for one topic.

Open Student Spaces on Android.

The landing page shows any Student Spaces you've already created.

To create a Student Space:

Select Create, or select any study tool on the landing page.

A blank Student Space is created.

Selecting a study tool from the landing page also starts a new Student Space.

Add source content from Sources, or select Chat to start asking questions.

Student Spaces assigns the space a name based on uploaded content. If you don't upload a file, the default name is Untitled. You can rename the space at any time.

Student Spaces creates the space and assigns it a name based on the uploaded content. You can change the name at any time.

Work within a Student Space

Within a Student Space, you can:

Citations appear only when a response uses uploaded source content. Responses generated without source content don't include citations.

Rename a Student Space

Student Spaces assigns the original name based on the source content.

On the Student Spaces landing page, select the ellipsis for the space you want to rename.

Select Rename.

In the Rename panel, enter a new name and save your changes.

Add source content

Adding sources makes them available for future chats and generated study tools.

Open the Student Space you want to update.

Select Sources.

Select an available option in the panel. You can add images, files, web links, or pasted text to a Student Space.

Select Next.

Repeat as needed to add more content.

Adding sources doesn't update tools that were generated previously. Generate a new version of a study tool to include the new content.

Remove source content

Removing a source prevents future chats and generated tools from using it. Content already included in an existing study tool remains unchanged.

Open the Student Space you want to update.

Select Sources.

Find the source you want to remove.

Select the ellipsis next to the source name.

Select Remove.

Select Remove to confirm.

Removing a source from the space doesn't necessarily delete the original file from your device or storage location.

Delete a Student Space

Deleting a Student Space permanently removes it from your account, including its sources, notes, chats, and generated study tools.

Open the Student Spaces landing page.

Find the space you want to delete.

Select the ellipsis next to the space name.

Select Delete.

Select Delete again to confirm.
