Create flashcards and quizzes

Last updated on Aug 25, 2026

Create flashcards for recall practice or a quiz to test your understanding of the sources in a Student Space.

Note

Student Spaces is available only in Acrobat on Android. It isn't available on iOS.

Flashcards and quizzes use the same source content but support different study goals. Flashcards help you recall terms, facts, and concepts, while quizzes help you identify what you understand and what you need to review.

Verify the source material

Confirm that the Student Space contains the source material you want the tool to use.

The tool uses the sources available when it is generated. Later source changes don't update an existing tool.

Create flashcards or a quiz

Start in one of the following ways:

  • Open a Student Space that contains your study materials, and then choose Flashcards or Quiz.
  • Choose Flashcards or Quiz, and then enter the topic and details you want the tool to cover.

When starting from a topic, you can provide details such as the subject, difficulty, or number of flashcards.

Create each tool separately. After generation, the flashcards or quiz appears in the Student Space where you created it.

Under Select a study tool, select Flashcards or Quiz.

Depending on the scope of the source material, you may be asked to choose a narrower focus for the flashcards or quiz.

The generation process.

Wait while Student Spaces generates the tool. You will be notified when generation is completed.

Study with flashcards

Open the generated flashcards to review one card at a time.

For each card:

  1. Read the question or prompt.
  2. Think of the answer before revealing it.
  3. Show the answer and compare it with your response.
  4. Continue to the next card.

Use flashcards to practice terms, definitions, facts, and other information that benefits from repeated recall.

Take a quiz

Open the generated quiz to test your understanding of the study material.

For each question:

  1. Review the available answers.
  2. Choose an answer.
  3. The quiz  reveals the correct answer as the user selects an answer
  4. Review your score and responses.

Use the results to identify concepts you understand and areas that need more review.

Review citations

Generated flashcards and quizzes can include citations to supporting source content.

Select a citation to review the extracted content. Open the source when you need the complete passage or additional context.
