Share and collaborate in a Student Space

Share a Student Space so classmates can review its sources, notes, and generated study tools.

Note

Student Spaces is available only in Acrobat on Android. It isn't available on iOS.

Sharing gives others access to the content contained in a Student Space. Choose who can open the space and what they can do before sending an invitation or sharing a link.

Chat history isn't shared. Each person can ask questions and study the shared materials independently.

Share a Student Space

Find the Student Space you want to share.

Select the ellipsis next to the space.

Select Share with others.

Enter the email addresses of the people you want to invite.

Configure their access and permissions.

  • Contributor - Can add comments, artifacts, and add or remove files and notes.
  • Reviewer - Can add comments
  • View only - Can view files and notes.

Optionally edit the default message to the 

Select Public link settings below the default message to review or change the permissions for anyone who accesses the Student Space through the shared link.

Options include:

Who can access this Student Space?

  • Anyone with the link
  • Invited people only

What can they do?

  • Add comments
  • View files and notes

Optionally Copy the link if you intend to distribute it yourself.

 

Select Done or Send the invitation (depending on the options you select).

Sharing a Student Space gives recipients access to all source files, notes, and generated study tools contained in that space.

Choose who can access the space

Under Who can access this Student Space?, choose one of the following:

  • Anyone with the link: Anyone who receives the link can open the Student Space.
  • Invited people only: Only people you invite can open the Student Space.

Use Invited people only when the space contains class materials or other content that shouldn't be available through a broadly shared link.

Choose what recipients can do

Under What can they do?, choose the appropriate permission:

  • Add comments: Recipients can review the shared content and add comments.
  • View files and notes: Recipients can view the content without adding comments or changing files and notes.

Invite people as contributors when they need to add or remove files and notes from the Student Space.

You can change a recipient's permissions after sharing the space.

Share with a link

Open the Student Spaces landing page.

Select the ellipsis next to the Student Space.

Select Get link.

Choose who can access the space.

Optionally edit the link access by selecting Change.

Select Copy link.

Send the copied link to the people you want to invite.

You can also share through a supported app:

  • WhatsApp
  • GroupMe
  • Discord
  • Reddit
  • LinkedIn

The recipient's access remains controlled by the options you selected before sharing the link.

Join a shared Student Space

Open the link you received through email, a message, or another sharing app.

The Student Space opens with the access assigned by its owner. Depending on your permissions, you can:

  • View source files and notes.
  • Open generated study tools.
  • Add comments.
  • Add or remove files and notes as a contributor.

Your chats remain separate from other participants' chats.

Collaborate within a shared space

Everyone with access works from the same collection of sources and generated study tools.

Depending on your permissions, you can:

  • Review the source materials.
  • Explore existing study tools.
  • Add comments and feedback.
  • Add or remove files and notes.
  • Create additional study tools from the shared sources.

Changes to the sources affect study tools and AI responses generated afterward. They don't update tools that were created previously.

Change access or permissions

  1. Open the sharing options for the Student Space.
  2. Find the person whose access you want to change.
  3. Choose a different permission. The change is saved automatically.

Use the lowest permission that allows each person to complete their work.
