We're upgrading the Admin Console to enhance your organization's control over content stored in Creative Cloud and to give you more visibility into storage capacity and usage.
|
For details on the user issues that may emerge as your organization updates to Enterprise Storage, see Upgrade to Enterprise Storage | Known issues.
We’ll update your Admin Console at a convenient time to minimize impact. During the update, the Admin Console will be unavailable.
For most organizations, the update will not be noticeable beyond a short period when the Admin Console is unavailable. For organizations with a large number of users (10,000+), this could take an hour or longer, so we will attempt to schedule the update during your off-hours.
As part of the update, users won't experience any downtime on their Adobe apps and services. However, they will be signed out of their Adobe accounts and will need to sign back in.
New storage features
With the Admin Console update, we're making it easier for organizations to transfer users' content when they leave the company. We've also pooled your organization's storage to give your team more flexibility. A new storage tab will give you an overview of storage usage.
In addition, enterprise customers can now assign the role of Storage Administrator to delegate storage admin tasks.
The following storage-related features are included with this update:
Reclaim assets
Applies to: Creative Cloud for teams and Creative Cloud for enterprise |
We're making it easier for your organization to transfer a user’s files from Creative Cloud storage to another account when that user is removed from your Creative Cloud business plan — for example, when they’ve left the company.
The content is transferred via a ZIP file (or multiple ZIP files if the content is over 5GB). A link to the ZIP file is sent to the user delegated by the administrator to receive the transferred files. The designated user can download the ZIP file, extract the contents, and upload the contents to their individual user folder. The ZIP file will remain available until the corresponding home directory is permanently deleted. For more information, see Reclaim assets from a user.
Applies to: Creative Cloud for teams and Creative Cloud for enterprise |
Now, all user storage quotas are combined and shared across the whole team. This allows those who need more storage to access unused storage from those who need less.
Previously, Adobe storage was allocated per license with a storage limit. For example, when an organization purchased 50 Creative Cloud licenses, each license was allocated the entitled amount of storage. Users who reached their limit needed to delete some content or have their organization purchase more storage—even if others weren't using their full quotas.
With this update, allocation is now based on the total storage amount purchased instead of per license. So, if an organization purchases 50 Creative Cloud licenses, each user still gets the entitled amount of storage—but now any user can exceed their entitled allocation as long as the organization hasn’t exceeded its total amount of allocated storage. For more information, see Manage Adobe storage.
Storage analytics
Applies to: Creative Cloud for teams and Creative Cloud for enterprise |
New storage analytics features give you an overview of your organization's storage as well as storage amounts for each active user. Receive alerts when storage limits are exceeded. And download storage reports for further analysis.
Update to user experience and accounts
Applies to: Creative Cloud for teams, Creative Cloud for enterprise, Document Cloud for teams, and Experience Cloud |
With this update, we are updating users with Adobe IDs and users in trustee organizations to Enterprise Storage for Business. In the case of Creative Cloud for teams or Creative Cloud for enterprise customers, your organization controls the assets associated with these accounts.
Users will be signed out of their Adobe accounts and will need to sign back in. Some users' accounts may be unavailable for a few minutes if they try to sign in while their accounts are being updated. Users can successfully sign in after a few minutes.
Update to sign-in experience for users
Most users who have a single business plan from Adobe will not see any change to their sign-in experience. They can continue to access Adobe apps and services as before.
If users have multiple Adobe plans associated with the same email address, Adobe will create separate profiles with dedicated storage for each of their plans. In order to easily work and organize content across business and individual plans, they'll be able to select a profile — business or personal — at sign-in.
This implies that, if a user selects a specific profile, the user have access to only the apps and services associated with that profile. The user doesn't have access to apps and services from other profiles. For example, if a user has a Photoshop entitlement from one Profile and InDesign from another Profile, the user will need to sign out from one Profile and sign into the other Profile to use the specific app. Note however, Stock entitlements, are available across profiles.
For more information, see Manage Adobe profiles.
In most cases, the appropriate profile will be auto-selected. In a few cases, these users may have to select a profile at sign-in.
Most admins who are given administrative privileges for a single organization on the Adobe Admin Console will not see any change to their sign-in experience. They can continue to sign in and access the Admin Console as before.
However, if you have administrative privileges for multiple organizations with the same email address, you will see the following changes:
- During sign-in, you'll be prompted with a profile chooser - one profile for every organization for which you have administrative privileges. For more information on profiles, see Manage Adobe profiles.
- After choosing the profile, you're signed into the organization that you selected in the profile chooser.
- However, you have the option to swtich to another profile without having to sign out and sign back in again. To do this, go to the Org switcher in the upper right corner of the Admin Console and select another organization.
We are currently updating all organizations to the new storage features described here.
- If one or more of your organizations have not yet been updated, you will NOT see profiles for these organizations in the profile chooser. However, you can sign in with your Personal Profile and then use the Org switch to select and access that profile.
- If you administer multiple organizations, you may be prompted to choose the organization as soon as you sign into the Admin Console. Also, if an organization is currently undergoing the update, it will not appear in the chooser.
If you are the contract owner and your teams organization has been updated, you must sign in with your Personal Profile (also referred to as personal account) to perform any billing-related tasks.
Other enhancements
Better control and sharing of Creative Cloud Libraries
Applies to: Creative Cloud for teams and Creative Cloud for enterprise |
Creative Cloud Libraries enable you to capture, organize, and share creative assets with your team. With the latest improvements, you can choose to save Libraries to your organization’s Creative Cloud storage to make them immediately accessible to all other users on the same business plan. This enables the team to efficiently maintain creative consistency and ensures that the assets stay within the company. Team libraries can also be shared with an unlimited number of collaborators both inside and outside the organization. For more, see Creative Cloud Libraries for business.
Extended version history
Applies to: Creative Cloud for teams and Creative Cloud for enterprise |
Now you can view or revert to earlier versions of cloud documents and Creative Cloud files for up to 180 days.
Sharing restrictions
Applies to: Creative Cloud for enterprise |
New features allow IT to set restrictions on how users can share and collaborate. For more information, see Sharing restrictions for asset protection.
Content logs
Applies to: Creative Cloud for enterprise |
New content logs allow IT to view how files and folders are used and by whom. For more information, see Content logs.
