Delete user data from Analyzer in Acrobat

Last updated on Aug 24, 2026

Permanently delete a user and all data they own from Analyzer.

Deleting user data removes the user's owned collections, files, attributes, and extracted values, including assets shared with other users. The action cannot be undone, so preserve any required data before starting the deletion.

Before you begin

  • You must be a System Admin or Privacy Admin.
  • You can delete data for up to 10 users at one time.
  • Analyzer does not provide a view that lists every asset owned by a user before deletion.
  • Review and preserve any user-owned data that other users or business processes still require.
Alert

Deleting user data permanently removes all collections, files, attributes, and extracted values owned by the selected users, including assets shared with other users.

Preserve user-owned data

Sharing an asset gives another user access but does not transfer ownership. Analyzer does not provide an ownership-transfer process for collections, attributes, or files.

To preserve data before deleting a user:

Share required collections with an administrator or another user who needs continued access.

Download required files and extracted data

Re-upload the files under another user account when continued ownership is required.

If you skip this step, Analyzer permanently deletes the user-owned data.

Delete user data

Go to Settings > User Management > Users.

Select one to 10 users whose data you want to delete.

Select Delete User Information.

If you select more than 10 users, the action is unavailable. Reduce the selection to continue.

Analyzer limits each deletion request to 10 users to keep the operation within the supported batch size.

Review the confirmation dialog and verify the selected users.

Confirm that you understand all data owned by those users will be permanently deleted.

The confirmation step provides the final opportunity to verify the affected users before the irreversible deletion begins.

Select Confirm.

Analyzer starts the deletion asynchronously. Processing time depends on the amount of data owned by the selected users.

Deletion behavior

  • Assets remain owned by the user who created them, even when shared.
  • Deleting a user removes all assets they own, including assets shared with others.
  • Other users may lose access to shared collections, files, attributes, and extracted values owned by the deleted user.
  • There is no recycle bin, undo action, or ownership-transfer option after deletion begins.
  • Some system-level records may remain for audit, operational, or business-critical purposes.
  • User-data deletion is available only in the web application. API deletion is not supported.
  • The deletion process works the same in all supported regions.
