Turn your notes into a Study guide

Last updated on Apr 7, 2026

Learn how to create focused study guides for each subject to plan what to study, prioritize key topics, and check your readiness.

The Study guide tool in Student Spaces turns your notes, slides, readings, and past papers into a focused study plan when time is short. Create one guide per subject to prioritize topics, decide how deeply to study each one, and know when you’re ready to move on. It’s useful for exam prep, last‑minute revision, or catching up after missed classes, without rereading everything from scratch.

Go to Student Spaces and choose how to begin:

  • From your existing materials: Open a Student Space that already has your sources uploaded, or create a Student Space, then select Study guide.
  • From a topic only: Select Study guide from the Tools section on the Student Spaces homepage and define the topic and depth level to get started.
Tip

Focus on one subject at a time and include all relevant materials, such as lecture PDFs, slides, notes, readings, links, or past papers, to keep the study guide focused.

Open the generated study guide to review and plan your study:

  • Read the Introduction to understand what the study guide covers and why it matters
  • Use the Table of Contents to identify priority topics and decide where to start

Use the study guide to review topics at the right depth, explore cited sections, and quickly check your understanding with a quiz.

Read the topic explanation to understand the concept in context, then select the cited links to verify the source or explore the original material further.

Use the Key Takeaways and Study Tips to prioritize important concepts and understand how they’re typically assessed.

Try the Suggested quick exercises to check your understanding and reinforce learning while the material is still fresh.

Refine and manage your study guide using the More actions menu. You can:

  • Rename the guide to match your course or chapter
  • Download it for offline study
  • Delete outdated guides

You can share feedback to improve future guides using the Like and Dislike options.
