Creative Cloud applications appear as trials after users apply updates

Issue: When a user accepts a major update to the Creative Cloud applications, their licensing reverts to trial

In environments where Creative Cloud has been deployed with a serialized package, and the option of allowing administrator users to apply updates themselves was selected in the Creative Cloud Packager, a licensing error can occur which results in applications appearing as trials. This can occur when users choose to apply major updates, e.g. updating CC 2014 to CC 2015, these updates will appear as trial versions.

Solution: Reserialize the affected workstations using a license file

Use the Creative Cloud Packager to create an updated license file. Apply this license file to the affected workstations. Steps for performing this procedure are outlined here.

Note: You do not need to redeploy the full applications. Applying the license file with admin rights will repair the product activation.
