Domain Enforcement
Enabling Access to Adobe Express for Education for your users.
Background
The Adobe admin console has supported federated logins for many years; this also required admins to add users via a User Sync and assign these users a license. If the admin did not implement both of these options, users would enter the personal account flow and not gain access to the K-12 Education version of Adobe Express.
What choices do I have?
- Admins can opt out of the settings, and no changes will be made to their current setup.
- The admin can change all auto-enabled settings after they have been set.
What settings will be applied?
-
Domain enforcement is set at the user directory level
Settings > Directories > Federated directory
We have enabled domain enforcement for all new directories created since October 2024. This setting prevents the creation of new Adobe IDs (Personal Accounts) with an email address containing one of the domains listed in the directory.

-
Automatic Account Creation
Auto-Account creation is set at the Authentication provider level
Settings > Directories > Federated directory > Authentication > Authentication Provider
This setting will create an Adobe Federated Account for the user upon successful authentication from your authentication provider. This user will then have a Federated Account without having to sync the user to the Adobe Admin Console. This step will not provide access to a product license.

-
Automatic License Assignment
Auto license assignment is set at the product level
Products > Product Access Automation > Automatic License Assignment
This setting enables an Adobe federated account to be assigned a license as soon as it attempts to access Adobe Express. If the admin has not accepted the Adobe Express K-12 (Free) product, this will be added to the console.
