Last updated on Aug 3, 2026

Get answers to common questions about purchasing and using VIP licenses in China.

These questions typically arise when purchasing Adobe products through the Value Incentive Plan (VIP) for deployment in China, managing multi-national license agreements, or understanding licensing restrictions specific to the China market.

What is VIP?

VIP (Value Incentive Plan) gives organizations the options and control to easily deploy Adobe products. It provides a cost-effective way to deploy Creative Cloud and Document Cloud with always-up-to-date versions across your organization.

How are VIP products licensed in China?

VIP in China offers named-user licensing, which provides membership to an individual user. Available products include Creative Cloud for teams (except Muse), Creative Cloud for enterprise, and Acrobat Standard in Simplified Chinese. Services are not currently included in licenses for China deployment.

Can VIP licenses be deployed in virtual environments?

No, VIP licensing is not compatible with virtual environments.

What is the difference between VIP and VIP Select?

VIP is the basic program with immediate deployment, automatic compliance, and rolling updates. VIP Select is a membership status automatically achieved when you meet the minimum license threshold: 10 licenses for commercial and government, 50 for education.

Where can I find the VIP Program Guide?

The VIP Program Guide is available in English, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese for the Commercial & Government and Education segments.

Where are VIP terms and conditions available?

VIP terms and conditions are available on the Adobe Value Incentive Plan Terms and Conditions page on Adobe.com.

Can multinational companies use a single VIP agreement?

No, you must use a separate China VIP Agreement for licenses deployed in China. A China VIP Agreement may not be used for deployment in other countries, and licenses for China must be purchased through an Adobe Authorized Reseller located in China.

What is a Linked Membership?

Linked Membership allows multi-national companies to make purchases on separate regional VIP agreements while aggregating license totals to achieve or increase VIP Select status. Contact your Reseller or read the VIP Program Guide to learn more.

Can I use China licenses when traveling?

Use of licenses outside the deployment region is acceptable for occasional travel. Primary usage should remain in the deployment region identified at purchase.
