Manage users in the Creative Cloud desktop app

Learn how to manage users, licenses, and roles directly from the Creative Cloud desktop app.

This procedure applies to System Administrators with a Teams plan purchased directly from Adobe. Sign in to Creative Cloud desktop > Manage team to handle your team's licenses without using the Adobe Admin Console.

User-based access

The Creative Cloud desktop app, Adobe Express, or Adobe Acrobat usage depends on the number of users:

  • Up to 20 members: Fully managed
  • 21–50 members: manage licenses but can’t add users
  • more than 50 members: Read-only application

To add users or manage larger teams, go to Adobe Admin Console > Users.

  • View team details to see member names, roles, assigned products, and available licenses in one place.
  • Simplify admin tasks by adding users, assigning or removing licenses, and purchasing additional seats without needing to switch to the Admin Console.
  • Track license usage to identify which licenses are in use or unassigned so you can redistribute them as needed.
  • Update roles by changing a user’s role between admin and member based on your team’s needs.

Add people to your team

Open the Creative Cloud desktop app > Manage Team.

Alternatively, in Adobe Express or Adobe Acrobat, select Profile > Manage people.

Select Manage Team to proceed in Creative Cloud.

In Adobe Express and Adobe Acrobat, user need to select Manage people.
In Adobe Express or Adobe Acrobat, select profile > Manage people.

Select Add people to view the user recommendation on the Add people and select access dialog box.

Add users:

  • To add a recommended user, select Add next to their name.
  • To add another user, enter their email address.

Select the apps to assign. You can assign multiple licenses to a person, such as Adobe Express and Adobe Photoshop.

Note

To add more than 20 users, use the Adobe Admin Console.

Select Add.

If a license for the selected app isn't available, select Add and checkout to purchase and assign the license, and then select Agree and subscribe.

The screen displays the order details fro review before you make the license purchase.

Review the license count and payment method before proceeding.

Manage existing team members

Select Manage Team.

You can’t update your own role. Assign another admin who can change your role or remove you from the team.

To change a user's role, select the Roles column and change the role from Member to Admin, or vice versa.

To assign, unassign, or change app licenses, locate the Access column and select the appropriate action. You can reassign an existing license or purchase and assign a new one.

To remove a user, navigate to the corresponding Actions and select More options > Remove from team.

To recover the user data that was on the Business Storage model, select asset reclamation.
