Release notes for Knowledge Base in Acrobat

Last updated on Jul 20, 2026

Document Ingestion

  • Increased Capacity: Upload documents up to 1,500 pages (PDF and converted Office formats), up from the previous limit of 400 pages.
  • Larger File Support: Knowledge Base now handles PDF files up to 500MB and other document types ( e.g., Office documents) up to 100MB
  • Figure Support: Images and alt text from PDFs and Word documents are extracted using PDF Extract, embedded into a vector database, and processed by an LLM for advanced image understanding. Knowledge Base can now process documents that include images or figures, such as graphs and tables, with far greater accuracy.

AI Assistant

  • You can now attach images and files directly in conversations. Each file can be up to 8MB, and each image can be up to 10MB. The total size of all images must be less than 25MB, and the total size of all files must be less than 16MB. Simply select + to upload a document or image, and it will be automatically added to your Collection.
    • You can query the uploaded document directly using Direct Mode.
    • You can also query it alongside the rest of your Collection using Collection Mode.
  • Concise Style: The  Concise Style mode removes unnecessary reasoning and assumptions.
    • In Auto mode, reasoning is generated by default.
    • Using Concise, the reasoning section is omitted.
  • Model-Side Artifact Creation: Generate PowerPoints, Word docs, CSVs, charts, and graphics — all natively created by AI, and you’ll be able to download the decks and other artifacts directly.

Slack and Teams Bots

  • Blue Polygon Attribution: Track responses from Slack and Teams chatbots. With read access to the Collection, you can follow citation trails in the Web UI to understand precisely which sources were referenced.
  • Persistent Chat Settings:  Your AI Assistant preferences are now remembered across sessions and platforms. Settings configured in the Web UI automatically carry over to Slack and Teams.

Connectors

  • Smarter Syncing: SharePoint and Google Drive connectors now support full sync, including modifications and deletions. Updates or deletions in the source folders automatically sync to your Knowledge Base Collections.
Note: Deletions made in Knowledge Base Collections do not sync back to SharePoint or Google Drive folders
