Change the owner of a collection

Transfer ownership of a collection to another user.

Changing the owner gives another user responsibility for managing the collection and its content. Confirm the recipient’s email address before completing the transfer.

Change the collection owner

From the Knowledge Base home page, select the Collections filter.

Open the collection you want to transfer.

Select the ellipsis menu to the right of the collection name

Select Change owner.

Enter the email address of the new owner.

Select Change owner.

The new owner can now manage the collection.

Verify the email address before transferring ownership of the collection.

Things to know

  • This change cannot be undone.
  • The user to whom the collection is transferred must be a member of your Knowledge Base organization.
  • Ownership transfers to the user associated with the email address you enter.
  • The previous owner may retain access through the collection’s sharing settings.
  • Changing the owner does not remove documents from the collection.
