Adjust and apply Effects
Select a photo to open it in Detail view.
Select Edit > Effects .
Hold and drag the following sliders to change tone and add depth to your photo:
- Texture: Smooth or accentuate textured details in your photo. Negative slider values smooth, and positive values accentuate details.
- Clarity: Change the contrast around the edges of objects in your photo. Negative values soften edges, while positive values increase edge contrast.
- Dehaze: Reduce or remove the haze or fog in a photo, revealing more detail and clarity. Negative values increase simulated haze, and positive values decrease haze in your photo.
When you adjust the Texture slider, the color or tonality does not change.
When using the Clarity slider, increase the setting until you see halos near edge details, then reduce slightly for the best result.
Adjust and apply Vignette
Select a photo to open it in Detail view.
Select Edit > Effects .
Select Vignette and drag the Amount slider to any value to enable the adjustment sliders.
Hold and drag the following sliders to draw attention toward the center of your photo:
- Vignette: Make the outer edges of the photo lighter or darker.
- Feather: Lower values reduce softening between the vignette and the vignette’s surrounding pixels. Higher values increase the softening.
- Midpoint: Lower values apply the Amount adjustment to a larger area away from the corners. Higher values restrict the adjustment to an area closer to the corners.
- Roundness: Lower values make the vignette effect more oval. Higher values make the vignette effect more circular.
- Highlights: Lower values reduce highlight contrast preservation when the Amount is negative, while higher values enhance it, ideal for photos with small highlights like candles and lamps.
Adjust and apply Grain
Select a photo to open it in Detail view.
Select Edit > Effects .
Select Grain and drag the Amount slider to any value to enable the adjustment sliders.
Hold and drag the following sliders to add realistic film grain for a vintage or analog look:
- Grain: Control the amount, size, and roughness of the grain effect of a photo.
- Size: Allows you to adjust the overall intensity of the grain effect.
- Roughness: Allows the sharpness or definition of the grain particles.
