Settings could not be loaded error on iOS
Resolve import errors using edit-copy and batch-paste workarounds.
When importing photos in Adobe Lightroom on iOS, you may encounter an error that prevents you from editing the image. This issue has a known workaround while a permanent fix is being developed.
After importing a photo, an error message appears stating "Settings could not be loaded. You can only continue editing this photo after resetting all edits." The photo appears in your library, but cannot be edited without triggering this error.
The following workaround allows you to continue editing affected photos:
A database loading issue prevents Lightroom from accessing the photo's edit settings, blocking normal editing operations. After completing these steps, you should be able to edit the photos normally. Adobe is working on a permanent fix for this issue in a future release.
- Open the affected image in full-screen view.
- Select Edit and apply a minimal adjustment, such as Texture or Grain, set to +1 (choose an edit feature you rarely use to minimize impact on your workflow).
- Select More > Copy Settings.
- In the Copy Settings panel, select only the specific edit you just made in step 2, then exit to the grid view.
- Select and hold a thumbnail to enter selection mode.
- Select the range of images you want to apply the workaround to, then select Paste.
