Correct lens distortions

Last updated on Jun 5, 2026

Learn how to use Optics tools to automatically correct lens distortion and chromatic aberration.

Use Optics corrections when you notice color fringing along high-contrast edges or curved lines that should appear straight. These corrections work best with photos captured using lenses that have known distortion profiles.

Tip

Zoom in to see the effect of chromatic aberration correction on fine details and high-contrast edges.

Lightroom applies corrections based on the lens metadata embedded in your photo. If your camera or lens isn't recognized, Enable Lens Correction may not be available.
