Override global settings to control individual user permissions.
The User Management section of the Settings tab allows administrators to define user-specific permissions that take precedence over values configured in General Settings. Overrides apply only to the selected users and remain in effect unless reset in General Settings.
Edit user permissions
-
-
Select one or more users.
-
Select Edit permission. (The button appears only after at least one user is selected.)
-
In the Edit permissions panel, select Override global setting.
-
Choose Yes or No for each available permission:
- Share collections.
- Create attributes.
-
Save the configuration when you are done.
How overrides behave
- If Override global setting is not selected, the user inherits the value configured in General Settings.
- When selected, the chosen Yes/No value applies to the user regardless of the global configuration.
- The override remains active until an administrator selects Apply to All in General Settings, which removes individual overrides and aligns all users to the global value.
- The override control enables user-specific configuration, but does not indicate whether the global and user values currently differ.
Multi-user configuration behavior
When configuring multiple users:
- If selected users share the same current value, that value appears in the dropdown.
- If selected users have different values, the dropdown displays Select.
- Choosing a new value applies that value to all selected users.
