User Management

Control permissions for individual users by overriding global settings when you need more precise access control.

The User Management section of the Settings tab lets admins explicitly grant or revoke permissions for individual users, regardless of the global defaults defined in General Settings. This gives you the flexibility to protect mission-critical users while adjusting default permissions for everyone else.

Edit the permissions of individuals

  1. Navigate to the Settings tab.

  2. Select one or more users.

  3. Select Edit permission. The button appears only after at least one user is selected.

    Configure

  4. The Edit permissions panel shows the user that is being configured, and the current value defined for that user in the drop-down to the right.

The admin can then select the Override global setting checkbox and set the Yes/No value for whether the user should be allowed to share collections (or create attributes).

The yes/no dropdown isn't editable if Override global settings isn't checked.

This would ensure that the selected value would always be applied to the user, regardless of how the global setting is set.

The values selected in the Yes/No dropdown are the persisted values for the user until the admin on the General Settings page uses the Apply to All option. In which case, the user takes the update and wipes the override flag, cause now everyone is the same by fiat.

The Override global settings option indicates that the system will override the default value, but does not indicate if the override is in effect. It's just a permission for the setting to override if needed.

    Configure

    Note

If multiple users are selected, and thier existing settings conflict, the dropdown field will have a default value of "Select" thereby allowing the admin to pick the value they want to apply.

  5. Save the configuration when you are done.
