Remove a file from a collection in Adobe Acrobat Analyzer

Remove a file from an existing collection without deleting it from All Files.

Remove a file when you want to narrow a collection for review, but keep the file available in All Files for use in other collections.

Before you begin

  • You have access to the collection you want to edit.
  • Deleting a file from All Files (your account) is available only to the file owner.

Remove a file from a collection

  1. Open the collection you want to edit.

  2. Select one or more files to remove from the collection by checking the box(es) next to the file name.

  3. Select the Delete icon.

  4. A challenge is presented to ensure you really want to remove the files from the collection.
If you own the file, you’ll see two options:

    • Remove selected file from this collection – removes the file only from the current collection. The file remains available in other collections and in Acrobat Analyzer.
    • Delete selected file from my account – permanently deletes the file from Acrobat Analyzer, removing it from all collections.
The collection list of files with the Delete button highlighted

  5. Confirm the removal of the file(s).

What happens after you remove a file

  • The file is removed from the current collection.
  • The file remains available in All Files.
  • If you select Delete selected file from my account instead, the file is removed from All Files and is no longer available for reuse.
  • Shared or linked files are removed only from the current collection. They remain available in their original location.

When to remove a file from a collection

  • You added the wrong file to a collection and want to remove it.
  • You want to narrow a collection to only the files relevant to your review.
  • You want to keep the file available in All Files for use in other collections.
