Remove a file from an existing collection without deleting it from All Files.
Remove a file when you want to narrow a collection for review, but keep the file available in All Files for use in other collections.
Before you begin
- You have access to the collection you want to edit.
- Deleting a file from All Files (your account) is available only to the file owner.
Remove a file from a collection
-
-
Select one or more files to remove from the collection by checking the box(es) next to the file name.
-
Select the Delete icon.
-
A challenge is presented to ensure you really want to remove the files from the collection.
If you own the file, you’ll see two options:- Remove selected file from this collection – removes the file only from the current collection. The file remains available in other collections and in Acrobat Analyzer.
- Delete selected file from my account – permanently deletes the file from Acrobat Analyzer, removing it from all collections.
-
Confirm the removal of the file(s).
What happens after you remove a file
- The file is removed from the current collection.
- The file remains available in All Files.
- If you select Delete selected file from my account instead, the file is removed from All Files and is no longer available for reuse.
- Shared or linked files are removed only from the current collection. They remain available in their original location.
When to remove a file from a collection
- You added the wrong file to a collection and want to remove it.
- You want to narrow a collection to only the files relevant to your review.
- You want to keep the file available in All Files for use in other collections.
