Schedule app updates

Last updated on Oct 14, 2026

Learn how to schedule Creative Cloud app updates, so that your apps can update automatically later.

If you receive an update notification for your Creative Cloud apps, you can schedule the update for a later time when you aren’t using your apps.

Note

You can schedule an app update for later only if the Auto-update option is turned off.

Select the Creative Cloud   icon in the Windows taskbar or the macOS menu bar to open the Creative Cloud desktop app.

On the Home tab in the left sidebar, select Manage updates, then hover over Update next to the app.

The Updates window shows the pop-up menu to update an app now or later after hovering over the Update button.
The available version number is displayed alongside each app, allowing you to identify which apps have a newer release ready for installation.

In the expanded menu, select Later to schedule your app updates.

The Updates window shows the pop-up menu to update an app now or later after hovering over the Update button.
Selecting Later postpones installing the selected app version, keeping it available for installation at a more convenient time.

Your app moves to the Scheduled updates section in the Updates window. You get a confirmation message that your app will be updated when it's no longer in use.
