Manage local storage in Creative Cloud desktop app

Local storage lets you access and manage files stored directly on your device within the Creative Cloud desktop app. Learn how to keep all your creative files in one place, save edits faster, and upload selected files to cloud storage when needed.

Add a local folder

Follow these steps to select a folder on your device and open it in the Creative Cloud desktop app.

Open the Creative Cloud desktop app. 

Go to Files > Local storage.

Select Browse to select a folder and choose a folder from your device.

Select Open.

Your selected folder and all files appear under Local storage.

Change the default folder

Follow these steps to replace your current local folder with a new one.

Go to Files > Local storage.

Select the Folder settings icon and choose Change default folder.

Select this option to choose a new default folder for storing your local files.

Select a new folder on your device and choose Open. The previous folder is replaced with the new default folder.

Disconnect local storage

Follow these steps to remove the connection between the Creative Cloud desktop app and your local folder.

Go to Files > Local storage.

Select the Folder settings icon and choose Disconnect local storage.

Select this option to disconnect your device’s local folder from the Creative Cloud desktop app.

In the confirmation window, select Disconnect local storage. Your local folder and its assets no longer appear in the Local storage window.
