Issue

While updating the Creative Cloud desktop app, you receive the following error message:

Creative Cloud desktop failed to update (Error code:1002)

Error 1002

Solution

Try the following solutions in order. Stop once you are able to update the Creative Cloud desktop app.

  • Solution 1: Click Retry to try installing the update again.
  • Solution 2: Restart your machine and then try updating the Creative Cloud desktop app.
  • Solution 3 (Mac Only):
    1. Using Terminal, run ls -ld /tmp.
    2. If the result reads lrwxrwxrwt specifically the last digit is t, then run the sudo chmod -h -t /tmp command.
    3. Click Retry to try installing the update again.
  • Solution 4: Uninstall the Creative Cloud desktop app.

Then download and reinstall the Creative Cloud desktop app.
