Update Creative Cloud apps manually

Last updated on Oct 14, 2026

Learn how to manually install available app releases from the Creative Cloud desktop app when auto-updates are turned off.

If you don't want to activate auto-updates for your apps, you can update them manually with the Creative Cloud desktop app.

Before you begin

Save your work and close your apps before you begin. If Adobe apps are open, you may receive a warning to close them.

Select the Creative Cloud   icon in the Windows taskbar or the macOS menu bar to open the Creative Cloud desktop app.

In the Home tab, select Updates, and then choose Update next to the app.

The Updates window shows the Update button for each app and the options to manage auto-updates, update all apps, and check for updates.
The Updates page lists installed apps with newer versions available and displays release information to help you identify the version you want to install.

If you have multiple updates, select Update all in the top panel to update all apps.

Note

Manage updates in the Apps tab lets you configure update settings, check for updates, and view updates. When app updates are available, the Update section in Manage updates lists them.
