Apps won't launch due to subscription error

Last updated on Oct 14, 2026

Fix the “Renew your subscription” error by refreshing your Adobe sign-in, verifying licensing, and checking connection settings.

Activation issues interrupt app launch

When you try to open an Adobe Creative Cloud application, you may see a "Renew your subscription" message even though your subscription is current. To resolve this issue, sign out and sign back in to the Creative Cloud desktop app.

Select the Creative Cloud   icon in the Windows taskbar or the macOS menu bar to open the Creative Cloud desktop app.

Select the Account   icon in the upper-right corner, and then select Sign out.

The Account menu button available at the top-right corner provides the option to sign out from your Creative Cloud desktop app.
Signing out and back in refreshes your account authentication, which can help resolve licensing and subscription verification issues without reinstalling the app.

Sign in to your account and open your app again.

If you still get the error, select License this software in the error message.

Check that your system clock is set to the correct time:

If licensing fails, wait a few minutes, then select Try again.

You can now access and use your Creative Cloud app without interruption.
