Can't sign in due to unknown server error

Learn how to resolve the unknown server errors when signing in to your Creative Cloud apps.

After updating the Creative Cloud desktop app, you might see an "Unknown Server Error" message when signing in to a Creative Cloud app. Follow these solutions to fix the issue.

Creative Cloud desktop app is outdated

The more recent versions of the Creative Cloud desktop app include an update that usually resolves this issue, and downloading the latest version of the app can fix the issue.

Go to the Creative Cloud download page and select Download Creative Cloud.

Double-click the downloaded file to begin installation:

  • macOS: Creative_Cloud_Installer.dmg
  • Windows: Creative_Cloud_Set-Up.exe

Follow the on-screen instructions to complete your installation.

After the installation, sign in to your apps again.

Cached information is causing issues

Close all Creative Cloud apps.

Navigate to the following folder:

  • On Windows: C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\OOBE
  • On macOS: /Users/[username]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE/

Delete the opm.db file.

Restart your computer.

Launch the Creative Cloud desktop app and sign in again.

Uninstall the Creative Cloud desktop app.

Launch the Creative Cloud desktop app and sign in again.
