Charged higher than expected on the bill

Learn why you were charged more than expected and how to resolve the issue.

Your previous payment failed, resulting in multiple charges

If you see multiple charges on your current Adobe statement, it may be because we couldn't process your payment for the previous month. This can happen when:

  • You change your credit card details.
  • Your bank declines the charge.
  • Your credit card has expired.
  • Your account doesn't have sufficient funds.

Check with your bank to find out if there's an issue with the previous month's payment.

You have multiple Adobe accounts with active subscriptions linked to the same payment method

Your Adobe account is associated with your email address. If you use multiple email addresses, you may have purchased products under different Adobe accounts with the same payment method. This can result in multiple charges.

Check your Adobe account page for your email address:

Sign in to your Adobe account.

Go to the Account information and access section, and check your Primary email (Adobe ID).

The Primary email (Adobe ID), highlighted in the Account page, shows the email address associated with your Adobe account.
The primary email should be the email address that you use.

Review the Plans page for each Adobe ID to see all active subscriptions.

Confirm the charges match subscriptions across all your Adobe IDs.

Your promotional or discounted period has ended

The higher charge could be because the promotional price for the subscription ended, and your plan renewed at the regular price.

If you purchased a Creative Cloud plan for students, you may have been charged the standard subscription amount after the promotional period ended. For more information, visit the Creative Cloud plans page.

You accidentally placed a duplicate order

You may have accidentally ordered the same item twice. For example, if you entered an incorrect email address, you may have placed another order because you didn't receive the confirmation email. In such cases, both charges appear on your statement.

You recently purchased an Adobe product or service

The double charge on your Adobe bill might be for a product or service you recently purchased. Alternatively, you may have purchased a plan for someone else, such as a family member. You can check your Adobe account to review your purchase.

You were charged a cancellation fee after ending an annual plan paid monthly

If you cancel an annual membership, a cancellation fee may be charged as per the subscription terms. This cancellation fee will appear on your next bill.

Your trial period has ended, and you were charged for the app or service

Free trials of some Adobe products and services, such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, or Adobe Stock, automatically convert to a paid version after the trial period ends. Check your Adobe account to view the products and services you are currently subscribed to.

You accidentally purchased an Adobe Stock premium image

If you have an Adobe Stock membership, you can download Standard images per your subscription terms. Any premium images you purchase are charged separately. Check your Adobe account to see if you purchased any premium images from Adobe Stock.

You purchased additional Stock images beyond your monthly plan

If you have an Adobe Stock membership, you might have been charged a fee if you purchased images beyond your monthly plan allotment.

You purchased a service that is paid yearly

If you purchased a paid yearly service such as Adobe Acrobat PDF Pack, Adobe Acrobat Export PDF, or Fill & Sign, your subscription might have been renewed. For details of your subscription, check your Plans page.

Your subscription price increased recently

If the subscription price in your region has changed recently, the updated charges are reflected in your bill. You would have received an email communication from Adobe in advance about any price changes. You can also check the subscription price in your Adobe account.

Your bank charged a debit card fee

In certain regions, banks may charge a fee for using a debit card. If you paid with a debit card, check with your bank if a transaction fee was added.
