Acrobat intermittently crashes after installing the May 2020 update. Using a dual-monitor setup is one of the reasons for the crash.
Connect a secondary monitor to your computer for a dual-monitor setup.
Open a few PDFs on the secondary monitor.
Put the computer on Sleep mode.
Disconnect the secondary monitor, and wake the computer. Acrobat crashes.
To fix the problem, follow the workaround below.
Quit Acrobat application if it's already running.
In Start > Search, type RegEdit and press Enter. The Registry Editor is displayed.
Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\(version)\FeatureLockdown\
For example, the path for Acrobat DC is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\DC\FeatureLockdown\
Under FeatureLockdown, create a key of type DWORD and name it bMergeMenuBar; the key may not be present by default. Set the value of the bMergeMenuBar key to 0 (zero):
Data type: REG_DWORD
Close the Registry Editor.
