Project Sunrise | Update an existing asset

Upload a new version of an existing asset

Sunrise supports versioning of assets. This means that you can upload a new version of an asset without creating a second asset in the Asset library. To update an existing asset:

  • Open the existing asset.
  • Use the “...” button in the top bar to open the asset’s context menu.
  • Select “Upload new version”
  • Follow the instructions on the Upload dialog to upload a new file.

On starting the upload, the Asset version will be incremented. The new version of the asset will need to be processed, just like a new asset.

Cancel an upload

To cancel an upload:

  • Find the uploading asset card in the Asset library.
  • Use the “...” button on the Asset card.
  • Select Cancel.

This ends the upload for this asset.

  • If the upload was of a brand new asset, this deletes the asset card from the library.
  • If the upload was an update to an existing asset, this will revert the asset to the previous version.

Sunrise processing

Assets that are uploaded need to be processed by Sunrise.

Sunrise processes assets by doing the following:

  • Check that the asset is optimized for performance for interactive 3D and AR.
  • Perform automatic optimization for the 3D viewer, if necessary.
  • Create a QR code for AR.
  • Create test 2D renders.
  • Create a thumbnail for the Asset library.

While an asset is in the Processing state, it’s possible to open the asset. 2D, 3D, and AR views of the asset will become available as Sunrise creates them. The status of assets is updated in real time – as the 2D, 3D, and AR views become available, the right hand panel updates to show the status of the asset.

Once an asset has been processed, the assets status changes to Reviewable.
