Export embedded FBX from Autodesk Maya

Autodesk Maya does not support export to USDz or GLB, however you can export an embedded FBX from Maya.

To export an FBX for Stager from Maya:

  1. Assign materials to the object in Maya. You can learn how to add textures to a material here.

  2. If you already have textures and materials assigned, use Windows > General Editors > File Path editor to check that textures are assigned correctly.

    Textures with a red X need to be updated. Select the texture, and use the Repath Files button to update the texture.

    Textures with a green check are assigned correctly.

  3. Select the object you wish to export, then use File > Export selection to begin the export process.

  4. On the right side of the export window, ensure that the Embed Media checkbox is selected. You may need to expand the Embed Media accordion to see the checkbox.

  5. Change other export settings as needed, then click Export.
