Project Sunrise | Convert files with Substance 3D Stager

Export USDz or GLB from Substance 3D Stager

Substance 3D Stager is a powerful application useful for staging and rendering 3D products. It also has the ability to export to various file formats, including GLB, and USDz.

To convert files with Stager:

  1. Open Substance 3D Stager.

  2. Drag and drop the model you wish to convert into Stager. This will create a new scene with your model at the origin.

  3. Depending on the file type of your model, Stager may have automatically imported textures and materials for your model. If Stager did not import this content, you can import this content into the material for your model.

An image showing the material properties panel in Stager with the drag and drop dialogue open.

    1. Select your model in the scene.
    2. Open the Material tab.
    3. For each channel in the material assigned to the model, use the color picker or + symbol to assign an image in that channel.
    4. Drag and drop the desired texture to assign it to the channel.
  4. Once your model's material has all textures assigned, ensure the model is selected in the scene, then use File > Export > Selected.

  5. Select a filetype that matches one of Project Sunrise's supported formats.

  6. Click Export.

Once Stager completes the export, you can upload the exported file to Project Sunrise to add it to your assets.
