Export from Clo
We recommend the following settings when exporting from Clo:
Note
Ensure you're using the latest version of Clo to prevent potential export issues that may arise in older versions.
Single object vs Multiple objects
- Recommended: Export as a single object to combine all parts into one asset.
- Alternative: Export as Multiple objects to export each component separately. This can affect overall asset size and performance in some workflows.
Thickness
- Recommended: Provides smaller file sizes and is generally suitable across asset types.
- Alternative: Adds thickness which improves the behavior of shadows, but also increases file size and polygon count.
Unified UV coordinates
- Recommended: Avoid using Unified UV coordinates as it generally results in less optimized assets.
- Alternative: If using Unified UV coordinates, keep the image size at or below 4096px (4k) to prevent processing issues.
Scale
- Recommended: For a full outfit, set the scale between 1% and 10%. The default scale (100%) can be too large for human-sized assets.
- For example, with the default settings a full outfit will export at around 60m, or 208ft in height. Changing the scale to 2% results in a more reasonable 4ft tall output.
Axis conversion
- Recommended: Set 'Y' Axis to Y(Up) to ensure the asset loads upright in Sunrise.
File
- Recommended: Toggle Save Colorway to on, and select Multiple files from the drop-down menu for better file organization.
