Project Sunrise | The 2D viewer

The 2D viewer allows you to preview and modify 2D renders generated for projects. To open the 2D viewer:

  1. Open or create a project.
  2. Navigate to the asset you wish to preview.
  3. On one of the cards for a 2D shot, click the preview image.

The 2D viewer consists of:

  • The Top bar.
  • The Viewport.

The Top bar

The Top bar has the usual profile controls, but also has some additional information and functionality.

  • Use the left pointing arrow to return to the Project viewer.
  • The current preview name and any tags associated with the image are displayed.
  • Change how the image is displayed, either at the image's actual size, or fitting the screen.
  • Use Edit shot to modify the camera angle used for the render.

The Viewport

The Viewport primarily shows the render, but you can also navigate through the renders of the current asset with the left and right arrows on either side of the window.

Edit a shot

When you click “Edit shot” you’ll be taken to a 3D viewer that allows you to change the camera angle for the current render.

To navigate the 3D viewer:

  • Left click and drag to rotate.
  • Right click and drag to pan.
  • Scroll wheel to zoom.

You can also use the buttons at the top left of the 3D viewer to switch between rotate, pan, and zoom on the left click.

Once you’ve found the right camera position, use Save and close to save the position and re-render the object.

You can cancel the camera repositioning with the cancel button, or just hitting your browser's back button.

When you modify the camera position for a render, the render will be tagged with an additional status, Modified.

This is to indicate that this render for this asset might not follow the pattern of other assets in this project.
