Project Sunrise | Convert files with Substance 3D Painter

Export USDz from Substance 3D Painter

If Adobe Substance 3D Painter is your primary texturing software, creating USDZ versions of your files is as easy as performing another export.

  1. Open Substance 3D Painter.

  2. Open the SBS project file that you used to texture your model.

  3. Use File > Export Textures...

  4. Use the Output template dropdown to select USDz (Apple AR).

  5. Adjust other export settings as needed.

  6. Click Export.

Painter exports a series of files, including a USDz file that holds both model and texture data. You can upload this USDz file to Sunrise to add it to your assets.

Send to Stager

Adobe Substance 3D Painter also has the option to Send to Stager. This sends content from Painter directly to Stager, without requiring additional setup. From here, you can follow the instructions for converting files in Substance 3D Stager.

Note

Send to Stager is only available when using Substance 3D Painter through Creative Cloud.
