The Project viewer
Opening a project brings you to the Project viewer. The Project viewer provides information about the project, access to media for the assets assigned to the project, and the ability to modify the project.
Project viewer layout
The Project viewer is separated into the following areas:
- The top and left bar
- The Title bar (red)
- The Viewport (green)
- The Info pane (blue)
The Title bar
The Title bar shows the name and status of the project, and has some status-dependent options. You can also share projects from the Title bar.
For projects that are Reviewable, you can use the status dropdown to approve the project. Note, once a Project has been approved, it is not possible to return its status to Reviewable.
The Viewport
The Viewport is organized by asset, and shows cards for each media item generated for each asset.
From the Viewport you can:
- Add assets to the project.
- Re-render media items at a different quality level.
- Open media items.
To add assets to the project, use the Add assets button. This will open a dialogue where you can select from approved assets within your organization.
Manage 3D Viewers
The first item card for each asset is the asset’s 3D viewer.
Only 2D shots can be selected from the project viewer. Web players or 3D viewers cannot be added to the selection.
Click a 3D viewer card’s image to open the 3D viewer.
MANAGE 2D SHOTS
By default, when you create a project, all renders will be generated at a “preview” detail level. This allows Sunrise to generate lower resolution images, so you can get an idea of the final results for the asset before making changes.
Click the image on a 2D shot’s card to open the 2D viewer, where you can edit the shot and view more information. Learn more about the 2D viewer here.
On each render card, the indicator in the top right shows the quality level of the generated render. In the screenshot below, there are 5 cards – 1 for the 3D viewer, and 4 for the various renders generated for this asset.
In this example, the renders each have different render qualities. The “High” and “Medium” quality renders display spinners as they are still in the process of being generated.
Select cards
To select a card:
- Hover over the card so that a checkbox appears in the top left corner.
- Select the checkbox.
In the screenshot above the middle card is hovered, and the right cards are selected. Because one or more objects are selected, the Add assets button is unavailable, and instead options appear:
- Select all: Select all renders in the current project.
- When all items in the project are selected, this becomes a Deselect all button.
- Render: Re-render the selected items.
Clicking Render opens the Render dialogue. From the Render dialogue, you can select a quality level and render size for your new renders. Selecting a Render size that is not “Full” will be reflected on the render’s card in the Project viewer.
Render Quality changes the number of samples used to generate the render. More samples result in a more realistic, less noisy render.
Render size changes the resolution of the render, which can help render higher quality images more quickly if high resolution isn’t required.
The Information pane
The Information pane has some basic information about the project, including:
- The project creator.
- The date created.
- The template being used.
- The resolution of output images.
You can click the Information button on the right of the Info pane to minimize the pane and increase the size of the Viewport.
