Yes, you can upload work straight to Portfolio. Get started adding Project and Custom Page content by selecting the "+" icon in the left column. Although project content syncs between Behance and Portfolio, this simply means that you only have to upload once, and you have access to this project content on both services. However, you can use Portfolio in isolation to add your content, so you never have to leave the experience to create your full site.
