Add indexed website content to a collection by running a configured crawl in Upload Mode.
Use Upload Mode in the Knowledge Base Indexer to authenticate to Knowledge Base in Acrobat, select a collection where you have write access, and run the configured crawl. After the first mention, this page refers to the product as Knowledge Base.
Before you begin
- Install the Knowledge Base Indexer.
- Configure the target URLs and crawl settings. See [Configure a website crawl].
- Make sure you have write access to the destination collection.
- Make sure the computer has an internet connection.
Upload website content to a collection
Clear Discovery Mode to enable Upload Mode.
Select the refresh icon next to the collection selector.
A browser window opens so you can authenticate to Knowledge Base.
Complete the authentication process.
After authentication succeeds, the browser window closes automatically and the Indexer displays the collections where you have write access.
Select the destination collection.
Select the refresh icon when you need to authenticate or update the collection list.
Select Start.
Monitor the logs until processing completes.
The logs display:
- URLs being crawled.
- Pages discovered and processed.
- Progress information.
- Errors and warnings.
- Completion status.
Stop the operation
Select Stop to end the operation before it completes.
How it works
Upload Mode uses your Knowledge Base authentication to retrieve the collections where you have write access.
The Indexer then runs the configured crawl, processes the discovered pages, and uploads the indexed content to the selected collection. The logs report crawl and processing activity, warnings, errors, and completion status.
Best practices
- Test the configured crawl in Discovery Mode before uploading content.
- Confirm that the selected collection is the intended destination.
- Review the logs for warnings and errors during processing.
Things to know
- Upload Mode is enabled by clearing Discovery Mode.
- You can select only collections where you have write access.
- Select the refresh icon to authenticate or refresh the list of available collections.
- If the session expires during processing, the application attempts to refresh it.
- Authentication tokens are handled securely and are not stored permanently.
- Select Logout to invalidate the current session token.
