Learn how to fix repeated sign-in prompts in Adobe Acrobat on Windows.
Acrobat may show sign‑in errors or repeatedly prompt you to sign in, even after a successful sign‑in. In some cases, system or security settings prevent Acrobat from connecting to Adobe servers.
Outdated security protocols
Outdated security protocols block communication with Adobe servers. Acrobat requires TLS 1.2 to connect and validate your subscription. Turn on the TLS 1.2 security protocol in Windows.
Type inetcpl.cpl, then select OK to view the Internet Properties window.
Select the Advanced tab.
In the Security section, select the TLS 1.2 option if it isn’t selected.
Select Apply, then select OK.
Restart Acrobat and try signing in again.
Outdated Creative Cloud desktop app
Update the Creative Cloud desktop app to the latest version.
Open the Creative Cloud desktop app. The app launches.
Follow the instructions in Update the Creative Cloud desktop app manually.
Windows doesn’t save sign‑in credentials after certain updates
Applicable to Windows 10 users
After some Windows 10 updates (version 2004, build 19041.173), Windows may not save sign-in credentials for certain applications.
Try one of the following:
- Update Windows to the latest version.
- Apply the Microsoft workaround.
Windows Credential Manager service isn't running
Turn on the Windows Credential Manager service.
Press Windows + R to open the Run command.
Type services.msc, and then select OK to view the Services window.
Select Credential Manager, and then select Start the service if the service isn’t running.
Close the Services window.
Security software blocks Acrobat sign-in processes
Antivirus software blocks Acrobat executable files such as Acrobat.exe, acrotray.exe, or acrodist.exe.
Add Acrobat to the antivirus exception or allow list. Follow the instructions provided by your security software vendor.
Network security blocks Acrobat from Adobe servers
Network security settings may prevent Acrobat from connecting to Adobe authentication servers in enterprise environments.
If you are an enterprise customer, ask your IT administrator to allow access to the following URLs:
