Adobe Acrobat is available through subscription. Downloading the desktop app lets you open, create, edit, and manage PDF files based on the features included in your plan.

Get the right app

Acrobat provides different download options depending on whether you have a paid subscription, want to install the free Acrobat Reader app, or want to begin a trial.

  • Acrobat Pro or Acrobat Standard

Download Adobe Acrobat
Sign in with your Adobe ID to download the Acrobat app. On a trial page, sign in to download the subscription version.

Follow the instructions to sign in and install your subscribed version of Acrobat.

  • Acrobat Reader

Follow the instructions to install Acrobat Reader on Windows and macOS systems. 

  • Acrobat Pro free trial

If you want to try Acrobat before purchasing, start a free trial. Enter your contact information and credit card details when prompted.

Note

Acrobat Reader is free and lets you view, comment on, and sign PDFs. To access powerful tools to edit or convert PDFs, you need an Acrobat Pro or Acrobat Standard subscription.

Find the downloaded installer

If you can't find the downloaded file, check the Downloads folder on your computer.

  • Windows: Open File Explorer and select Downloads.
  • macOS: Open Finder and select Downloads.

Adobe ID or password help

Your Adobe ID is the email address you used when starting a trial or purchasing an Adobe app or subscription. Find solutions to common Adobe ID and sign-in issues.

Install Acrobat on another computer

You can install and activate Acrobat on up to two computers. If you want to install and activate it on a third computer, you must deactivate it on one of your previous computers. If you reach the limit, the Acrobat installer prompts you to do so.
