Learn how to add actions to bookmarks, links, form fields, buttons, and media clips in Adobe Acrobat.

Add actions to create interactive PDFs. These actions can open webpages, change views, run scripts, or show or hide form fields. Use actions on elements such as bookmarks or buttons to respond when users interact with them.

Create interactive PDFs with actions

Right-click the bookmark in the Bookmarks panel and select Properties.

Select the Actions tab in the Bookmark Properties dialog box.

Double-click the link, media clip, or form field to open its Properties dialog box.

Choose the action type you want to add from the Select Action dropdown menu, and then select Add.

Configure the options for your selected action in the dialog box that appears and select OK.

Repeat the previous two steps to add additional actions and use the Up and Down buttons to adjust the order.

(Optional) Select an action and use Edit or Delete to modify it.

Select OK to save your action configuration.

Select OK to close the Properties dialog box and apply your actions.
