Learn about the technical requirements for submitting Photoshop templates to Adobe Stock, including file formats, packaging, and image specifications.
Before submitting Photoshop templates to Adobe Stock, verify your files meet the technical requirements for file format, document setup, text formatting, and resolution. These specifications ensure templates open correctly for customers and provide a professional editing experience.
Files that do not follow these requirements will be refused during moderation.

Customers expect to edit and customize all text in templates. Outlined text cannot be edited and will result in refusal.

Adobe Stock Photoshop templates are single files and do not support packaging external assets. Linked images will not appear for customers who download your template.
Template Contributors may include embedded images and assets in templates if they own the content.
Embedded images must use psd, .psb, .jpg, .png, or .tif formats only. Other app formats, .ai and .eps, are not accepted because customers may not have access to all Creative Cloud apps.
For screen/digital templates at 150 ppi, embedded images must also be 150 ppi. For print templates at 300 ppi, embedded images must also be 300 ppi.
Smart Object specifications
Smart Objects preserve original image characteristics and allow nondestructive editing. Use Smart Objects for all placeholder images or designs meant to be edited or replaced by customers.

Convert existing designs to editable Smart Objects before submission. Dragging an image into the file automatically creates a Smart Object.
Masking options
Layer masks
Use layer masks to fine-tune visibility within a single layer, such as removing the background while preserving the subject.
To create a layer mask, select the area you want to show, then select the Layer Mask button in the Layers panel. Black areas hide; white areas show.

Clipping masks
Use clipping masks for general masking across multiple layers. The bottom layer's shape determines what shows through in layers above.
Best for geometric constraints, such as masking content to fit a circular smartwatch screen or a rectangular photo frame.
