Technical and legal requirements for photo submission
Last updated on

Learn about the technical requirements and compliance standards before you submit photos to Adobe Stock.
We accept photos shot with any camera, including a mobile device, that meets our standards. Before you upload images, make sure they meet Adobe Stock’s requirements to avoid refusal.
Technical requirements
The photos you submit to Adobe Stock must meet our technical requirements to be accepted into our collection.
- Image resolution: 4MP-100MP (megapixels)
- File size: Maximum 45MB (megabytes)
- Content: Free of any watermarks, timestamps, or branding
- Format: JPEG with sRGB color profile
- Quality: Sharp focus and well-lit
Larger files (up to our maximum file size) can offer greater flexibility for customers. Resize your photos accurately to maintain clarity and detail.
Legal requirements
Follow our legal and ethical guidelines to ensure proper permissions, rights, and clearance, and to comply with intellectual property requirements:
- Provide individual model releases for recognizable people.
- Provide property releases for identifiable locations, artwork, or objects.
- Avoid submitting anything that includes copyrighted logos, signage, or trademarked products.
- Be aware of location-based IP, such as murals and architectural landmarks. Refer to the known restrictions list for specific locations not acceptable in submissions to Adobe.
