Text editability standards
All text in your template must be editable. Customers should be able to:
- Create titles and headlines.
- Design lower third text fields.
- Insert name and location placeholders.
- Configure date and time displays.
This exception applies only to content used as a graphic design element, not to editable content.
- Converting text to shapes for animated effects.
- Using stylized letterforms as graphic components.
- Applying text as texture or pattern elements.
Placeholder text standards
Before submitting your template, keep these content requirements for placeholder text in mind:
- Use generic placeholder text to indicate which fields you can customize. Lorem Ipsum text is recommended for most placeholder text.
- Make sure your content doesn't violate intellectual property requirements.
- Avoid references to identifiable people, companies, and locations in templates, including the Adobe name, logo, or products. Substitute fictitious and generic names to represent any individuals, company or logo, and placements.
Approved placeholder formats
Refer to the following approved placeholder formats to ensure all editable text uses generic, fictitious content that supports customization and avoids references to real individuals, organizations, or locations.

- Don't include brand names on device mockups.
- Use "smartphone" instead of "iPhone" in mockup labels.
- Use generic device representations only.
Common refused reasons related to text
Templates are rejected for text-related issues when:
- The system detects fonts not available through Adobe Fonts.
- Hidden or unused layers contain non-Adobe Fonts.
- Text includes real names, companies, or locations.
- Brand names (including Adobe) appear in text or layer names.
- Designers outline text that should remain editable.
- Placeholder text contains actual contact information.
Adobe reviews all text layers, including hidden or unused ones, for compliance. You can use the video templates requirements for more information about assets, releases, and technical specifications.
